3D Driftwood Art

Hi,
My name is Tommy Winn. I was born in Oxford North Carolina near
Kerr Lake with eight hundred miles of shore line. Eighty percent of the
lake is under developed.
When I was five years old, I brought home a large piece of driftwood.
Everyone in my family asked me what I was going to do with it? I would
say "I don't know but its mine and I love it." Well I'm forty seven years old
now and about 10 years ago I was in between jobs and thats when I sold my
first piece of Drift Wood Art. I worked at night and created my pieces during
the day and sold them on weekends at Flea Markets and small shows.
I first embellished them with figurines of people and glass ponds.
My wife collects turtles, and when I came home one night she had a piece
of driftwood with turtles all over it. That's when I realized that wild life goes
on it! (It was on!) I started buying realistic wild life figurines to put with my
driftwood. The art took on a life of it's own. Each piece was different and
unique. .
Well last year I quit my job, its been a year the 15th of May, I'm on
my own this is all I do. And I love it!. Don't think that it's not hard work but
when people tell me how much they like what I do. It's All worth it. Now it's
2008 and I started carving all my work .It has changed my world,I can't get
enough of it. I"m carve six day a week. People still love what I'm doing & so
do I. I started my life all over again,& for my next thirty years I'm Well .You
all will have to wait to see!
